KIU, Western Campus - Kampala International University Teaching Hospital (KIUTH), a leading healthcare provider and training institution in Uganda, has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its partnership with Kitagata General Hospital, Sheema District, Western Uganda. A high-level delegation from KIUTH, led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Muhammed Ngoma, paid a courtesy visit to Kitagata General Hospital on September 3rd, 2024, to consolidate their partnership.
KIUTH, with its state-of-the-art facilities and experienced staff, has been providing quality healthcare services to the community since its establishment in 2004. The hospital has a capacity of 200 beds and offers a range of medical services, including surgery, paediatrics, and obstetrics.
"We are grateful for the support and contributions from KIU Teaching Hospital," said Dr. Joshua Kabwishwa, Medical Superintendent of Kitagata General Hospital. "The partnership has greatly benefited our hospital and students."
Currently, 67 Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (BMS) students from KIU are undertaking their clinical training at Kitagata General Hospital, one of the teaching hospital's training sites.
"We plan to enhance support through human resources, equipment, and technology, including biometric equipment, to further bolster the partnership," said Dr. Omar Umi, CEO of KIU Teaching Hospital.
